Trail Run & Apple Picking With The #fitfam
AD3 Fitness classes are all about training together as a group, and even though many before us has been using the “#fitfam”, we feel like it is what describes us and our vibe the very best.
Saturday September 30th - The last day of September, we decided to bring fitfam to Bernardsville, NJ for a close to 6 miles long trail run, and finish it off with apple picking.
Alex and I have gone apple picking with our oldest daughter, Denise, in Warwick earlier, but this year we decided to try Wightman’s Farm in NJ, just minutes away from Alex's long time friend and client Joel Barkley’s amazing home.
The trail run was absolutely beautiful. Through the woods, uphill and downhill. Crossing rivers, and climbing rocks. We even took a water break at an old farm in Morristown National Historical Park, and picked fresh apples as a snack. This run was longer then usual, but the scenery and the fresh air made everyone feel refreshed.
When we came back to Joel and his husband Josh's house, they had prepared a light lunch for us, and we were ready for apple picking!
We highly recommend Wightman's Farm! They offer different packages of activities, and for a group like ours the "Ultimate Farm Experience" was perfect. It included a hayride, Pick Your Own Pumpkin, Giant Corn Maze, Apple Picking, Tote Bag, Pumpkin Slingshot, Cider and Doughnuts.. We had such a great time, and we are considering to make it in to an annual event.
Thanks to everyone who made it out to class, and also for spending time with us at our youngest daughter Jackie's very first apple picking!
Special thanks for Joel & Josh for being such a great hosts, and for the suggesting Wightsman's for apple picking!
